ABOUT US .....

The Downtown Alpharetta Trade Association (D.A.T.A.), found in a survey of citizens that the community is craving local fresh produce.

"Alpharettans want a downtown where they can easily step out to pick up fruits and vegetables, while shopping with local businesses for a gift and having lunch," stated Kathy An Kessler of Galerie, a downtown Alpharetta clothing boutique. Many downtown merchants compliment the Farmer's Market by running sales and specials during market weekends.

So in the spring of 2006 the Farmer's Market took root under an old oak tree in Historic Downtown Alpharetta in the City Parking Lot behind Smoke Jack Grill.

"We want the market to grow and support our local farmers," said Janis Gunther of The Cannery. The Market is open to farmers, gardeners, and makers of edible home goods.

In 2006 the Farmer's Market was held bi-weekly through the fall growing season and included seasonal plants and flowers. Due to its success, in 2007 this was expanded to weekly markets, and in 2008 the time was extended to 1:00 pm.

Alpharetta Farmers Market is open to the public. Admission is free. Free parking is available throughout Historic Downtown Alpharetta.
